3 Times I Felt Like the Loneliest Person in the World

I read something about loneliness recently, and it got me thinking about what I’d consider the loneliest moment in my life. I didn’t have to think long because it’s pretty cut and dry.

My grandmother was receiving chest compressions in the local ER. She was intubated — which at 91 meant that she would never breathe again on her own. Somehow I was the only family there.
